When filled with the same gasoline, hybrid vehicles consume 40%-50% less fuel than fuel vehicles. The key lies in the power system's reconstruction of energy flow rather than relying on a single gearbox.

 

1. Energy recovery: Traditional fuel vehicles waste all braking kinetic energy as heat energy, while hybrid vehicles recover 20%-30% of kinetic energy as electricity through electric motors, directly saving 15%-20% fuel in congested urban traffic conditions.

 

2. Engine locking in the high-efficiency range: The low-speed thermal efficiency of fuel vehicles is only 20%-25%, and less than 18% during rapid acceleration; hybrid vehicles maintain efficient operation by "using electricity to adjust oil", increasing thermal efficiency by more than 40%, saving fuel from the source.

 

3. Electric drive replaces inefficient operating scenarios: The extra fuel injection during the cold start of fuel vehicles accounts for 8%-10% of fuel consumption, which is avoided by hybrid electric motors; the motor assists during low-speed starting and sudden acceleration, replacing more than 60% of inefficient scenarios in urban conditions, saving fuel by about 25%.

 

4. Transmission efficiency optimization: Traditional transmission efficiency is 80%-90%, while hybrid efficiency is even higher: Toyota ECVT reaches 88%-92%, and BYD DM-i fixed gear ratio efficiency is 94%. There is no shifting waste, and additional fuel savings of 5%-8% in cities.

The 48V mild hybrid systems only save 5%-10% of fuel because the motor has low power and cannot be driven purely electrically; the strong hybrid motor has a power of 50-150kW, achieving electromechanical synergy, which is the key to the fuel saving difference.

In summary, hybrid fuel saving is the result of the coordination between the motor and the engine. By reconstructing the entire energy chain, the fuel efficiency can be maximized.
