The application range of hydraulic dynamometer can be seen from its characteristic curve. The characteristic curve shows the power range that the dynamometer can absorb at different speeds.
The OA curve represents the maximum power line that the dynamometer can absorb with the change of rotational speed under a certain inlet pressure.
The AB curve is the maximum power line that can be absorbed by dynamometer with the change of rotational speed when the dynamometer torque is kept as the maximum.
The AC line and the BC line are the limit of the maximum power that the dynamometer can absorb when the maximum allowable drainage temperature of the dynamometer is not exceeded.
The CD line is the limit maximum speed of dynamometer.
The OD curve is the braking power line (air friction resistance) of dynamometer without water filling.
The area surrounded by the curve graph OABCDO shows the power range that can be absorbed by the hydraulic dynamometer. This is also the basis for selecting dynamometer in the performance test of power machine.
When selecting dynamometer, users must pay attention to whether the test point of power machine is within the characteristic curve range of the dynamometer, and try to avoid the edge of the curve. Under the condition of water filling, the minimum absorbed power line (full open position of butterfly valve) is slightly higher than the OD line. Users should not be too close to the OD line as far as possible during selection.
